Happy Birthday Ella (A TPE Blog Hop)

It's Ella, the pink elephant's 1st birthday! And we're having a blog hop to celebrate!
You should have arrived here from Kellie's blog. If you didn't and want to follow the hop just head on over to The Pink Elephant to start from the beginning.

For the blog hop we got to go back and choose one of our favorite challenges from this past year. I am a sketch lover so I decided to work with the sketches. I actually picked two to share with you!
My first creation is a card for my great nephew's 2nd Birthday. He's a Thomas the Tank fan so I thought he'd like a Thomas card. I used the sketch from week #20. This was a pretty simple card, just cardstock, a Thomas sticker, a little fiber and some embossing. Real quick and simple card.

My 2nd creation I was inspired by Jana Eubank's Chocolate Survival Kit on Cuttlebug Challenges last week and made this chocolate box that I will be giving my hubby for Valentine's Day. I followed the sketch from week #41 to decorate the top of the box.

Here are all the goodies he'll be getting, I do hope he shares with me :)

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you find lots of inspiration through the hop. To continue with the hop head on over to visit Frances Byrne's Blog

Another Cuttlebug Romance Card

Here's another card from the weekend that I made using my new Cuttlebug Romance bundle set from HSN. The hearts were part of the folder, I just pieced the embossing then cut them out. I just love these new folders, I only have one other one done so far and I can't reveal that til next week but maybe I'll get some more made so you can check em all out on actual cards. I noticed Im in a black and pink mode lately, love those colors together.

Recipe Challenge

It's that time of week again, time for another Recipe challenge. This week's challenge was to use a diecut, ribbon & buttons. The card I made was also from a technique I tried over at the Cuttlebug Challenge blog, the technique was to do weaving with your paper then emboss it. One of the Design Team members, Lori Boyd has a tutorial on how to do this Here. I picked up a new cuttlebug cut & emboss die "love language" and used it for my card.

Recipe Challenge

This week's challenge was to use notebook paper, inking or paint and a journal box. At first this was a challenge for me but after I started pulling things together it all came out, now I just need to figure out who Im going to give it to :) I used my newest cuttlebug folder for the background & inked that with pink ink, the strips of paper & notebook paper are from Making Memories, the journal box was a stamp I had, the jewels are Hero Arts & the "X, O" I had laying around.

Some Projects

I actually scrapped this weekend! So, I thought I'd share what I made. This first project I made was something we did over at http://www.scrapfreak.com/ I painted a cookiesheet to use for a sort of message board, this one will display the week's menu. The scalloped ovals are magnets. I initially was going to do a whole meal planner but thought something a little more simple would be better.

And this project is a Valentine's banner. Now I'd like to do some sort of Valentine theme on the mantle. The pic doesn't show the details very well you can see the individual letters HERE

That's it from this weekend, I'll be back Tuesday to share my card I made for Tamara's recipe challenge.
