Congrats card

My nephew & his wife found out they are having a baby in November so I made this card to congratulate them. I also did some challenges with this card too. Penny Black Saturday Challenge has an anything goes challenge this week all you have to do is use at least one Penny Black image. Our Creative Corner is having a challenge to use your favorite color combo, pink is my fave color and I love it comboed with light green (that was even our wedding colors :) ). Cupcake Craft Challenges challenge is to use 5 embellishments, I think I might have more than 5 here; the flowers, fiber, safety pin, charm, the swirl jewels and the jewels on the flower centers.

April Christmas Cards

One of my New Year's resolutions was to make Christmas cards each month so I didn't have a ton of them to make in November. Well I missed Jan, Feb & Mar lol. Now I found this blog Christmas Cards All Year Round that has monthly Christmas card challenges so I'm hoping their blog will be inspiring for me to get my cards made :) This month's challenge was to make 5 cards from old Christmas cards you've received. Well I just so happened to save all my cards from this past year because I thought I'd be able to do something with them, Im glad I saved them! I also made these cards for the Simon Says Stamp Challenge recycle challenge this week. Here's the 5 cards I made with the recycled cards. The card I received is pictured first and then my remake.

This challenge was so fun I might have to do some more. I love getting comments, let me know what you think of my recycled cards!

Recipe Challenge #46

This week's recipe at sketches by Tamara was to use rub ons, sewing & something that flies. I dug out my old Viking sewing machine this weekend because I wanted to play with some of the stitches it has for this challegne. At first I didn't think that was going to happen because it was all seized up (I usually grab my little portable Etna for most sewing) but I greased it up and did a little work on it, I even had to take it apart in places to get it to work, it's still tore apart but it sews :) and here's the stitches I used for my card. I still haven't decided if I like it or the card, I guess it doesn't matter because it's being mailed out tomorrow to my MIL.

The Pink Elephant Challenge #12

This week's challenge at The Pink Elephant was a sketch challenge. I have a long list of cards I need to make so I chose to make a baby congrats for this one. My cousin had a baby girl recently so I had to pull out some of my favorite paper which is of course pink and I made this card to send to her.

Here is the sketch we used this week, designed by one of the design team members, Carol.

A layout

Yup that's right it's a layout, a rare thing for me I know. This is my niece doing a little dance with my hubby's hat. It was definately a Kodak moment, she was so cute. I used a sketch that is posted at the wisconsin scrappers blog Here's my layout.

Here's the sketch I used for the layout.

The Pink Elephant Challenge

This week's challenge at The Pink Elephant was to create something by recycling something. Since spring is here my crafting and spare time starts going towards my gardening so this week I made something for my garden. They're plant markers. Since they're going to be stuck in the pots they had to be weather proof. I used some old silverware (knives) and pop cans as my recycled items. I used alcohol inks on my knives to give them some color. The flower & butterfly we cut from the pop cans using my cuttlebug and the tags I punched out with one of my punches. I had fun creating these and was thrilled to find out I could die cut and punch the aluminum cans. I see some more garden crafting out of these in the future.

Here's the plant markers.

Recipe Challenge

It's time for another recipe challenge from Sketches by Tamara This week's recipe was to use a repeat pattern, numerals and a one word sentiment. I used some of my Hero Arts stamps to create my repeat patterns on my cardstock, the numbers on the background cardstock were embossed with my cuttlebug.

The Pink Elephant Challenge

I've been mia for awhile because I've been sick and really haven't been scrappin' much. I did manage to get a couple cards done this week though.

This week's challenge at The Pink Elephant is being sponsored by The Greeting Farm and we got to play with some digital stamps for our challenge which is a color challenge this week. Our colors we were to use are pink, light yellow & light green. I'm not much of a colorer so coloring my Anya stamp was a bit of a challenge for me but I got it done :)

So, here's my first Anya card. I used the Anya Alice image for this one.

Be sure to stop on over to The Pink Elephant to check out what the other design team members made and we'd love for you to play along too!
