TPE Challenge #21

Im still in Alaska :) at this time we're probably in Denali and coming to the end of our trip :(

This week's challenge at The Pink Elephant is being sponsored by DRS Designs and they gave us design team gals a chance to use some of their stamps! My lss also carries their stamps so I am familiar with their product and they've got some great images. The challenge this week is to create something using your favorite color combo. Well my favorite winter colors to use are blue of course I do like pink too :)

The stamps I used for my first card are snow globe, simly snowman, and in themeadow. I decided to try a shaker card with the snow globe.

I wasn't quite satisfied with how my shaker card turned out so I made another one with just the simply snowman stamp. This card was super simple to make.

Be sure to head on over to The Pink Elephant to see what the other gals made.
Have a great week!

TPE Challenge #20

Hello everyone, Im on vacation right now in Alaska with my family! We're celebrating my parents 50th wedding anniversary and it just so happens to be mine and my dh's 4th anniversary while we're on the cruise too.

Our challenge for this week is being sponsored by Unity Stamps and we had the opportunity to use some of their stamps. This week's challenge is a sketch challenge. I ended up doing some playing around with the sketch and the stamps so I have 3 cards to show you today.

The stamp set I used for my cards is Jolly Winter. I used black fun flock on my penguin to make him a little fluffy on this first card.

I used the same stamp on this one as the one above and made my penguin look like he's peaking from the corners.

And since I used just the one stamp from the set for the first two cards I thought I'd make another one with some of the others from the set. This one isn't part of the sketch though. The globe stamp is from DRS but the rest are Unity.

Thanks for stopping by and by the time you read this I will probably be in Ketchikan. Be sure to stop on over to The Pink Elephant to see what the other gals did with this week's sketch. Also be sure to check out Unity Stamps to see all their neat stamps.

TPE Challenge #19

This week's challenge at www.thepinkelephantchallenge.blogspot.com was to make a wedding card. I enjoyed doing this one, I like making wedding cards even though I don't have many to give out. You can't tell in the picture but all the paper I used has a bit of shimmer to it. Here's the card.

And I've decided I need to work at doing something with the insides of my cards. This one was pretty simple I just added a sentiment and the 2 little doves. And I didn't stop with the inside of the card, I decided to dress the envelope up a little bit too. I ran the edge of the envelope through my cuttlebug using one of my border folders. I love this look, I also added the two doves to the front of the envelope.
I hope you enjoyed my card and be sure to head over the The Pink Elephant to see what the rest of the team did this week.
Bride & Groom Stamp: Stampendous Happy Couple
Sentiment on front of card, doves and inside sentiment: Hero Arts Two Hearts Wedding
Pearls: Hero Arts
Paper: Unknown from my stash
Embossing: Cuttlebug border With Love

Quiet Book

For the past week I've been working on a quiet book for my great nephew's 2nd birthday. I had one of these when I was little and I thought it be something nice to share with my great nephew. I made the book out of felt and hand stitched the pieces together. The 8x8 pages were stitched on my sewing machine. I really enjoyed making this and I see more in my future. It's a nice change from the paper crafting.
Ok, weird, the pics are cut off, I'll have to fix that tonight.
Here's the cover

The shapes have snaps sewn on them for him to snap them on and off and match them up.

He loves tractors so I had to have one in his book

This is my favorite page, hanging the clothes on the clothesline

The barn door opens, I still need to put something in there, maybe finger puppets
Photobucket

A caterpillar to count his legs

The apples are velcroed onto the tree so he can pick them and put them in the basket.

A shirt to button

And a pocket for his mom to put a treat in

And here he is after opening it.

TPE Challenge #17

This week's challenge over at The Pink Elephant is a recipe challenge. The design team was to create something using 3 buttons, 2 layers and one sentiment. My mother in law's birthday is today so I decided to make a birthday card for her.

I used a Penny Black stamp for the image, the "celebrate" is from Hero Arts, the patterned paper is Heidi Grace, cardstock is bazill and the ribbons & cupcake buttons are from my stash.
